The Most Memorable Hunt of My Life …
I’ve been hunting with my dad since I was a little girl, but this was by far my most exciting hunting experience. When Dad asked me to go with him on a guided bear hunt at Rising Son Outfitters, I was excited at the opportunity to hunt a bear for the first time. We stayed in beautiful log cabins that easily accommodated all six of us. My husband, Jake, and our two children, Addison (age 5) and Remington (age 2), and my mom also joined us for the week. Randy, Dena, and their three grown boys were amazing hosts, with Dena providing outstanding meals each day. Our daily horseback rides into the mountains provided breathtaking scenery and an abundance of wildlife to view including elk, deer, bear, and even a band of bighorn sheep. The horses we rode were steady on the steep mountain trails and easy to ride, even for an inexperienced rider like myself. God blessed me with a beautiful bear that week. It was amazing to make such great memories with my family. I’m so thankful for the Petrich family and the opportunity they provided to experience such an incredible adventure of a lifetime!
A Truly Western, High Country Elk Hunt!
Before coming to Rising Son Outfitters, I had been on 2 other elk hunts. After not seeing an elk on those hunts, I booked a hunt with Randy. On my first hunt with him I was successful and I knew I had come to the right place. I have now hunted with them for 13 years and have harvested many great bulls, and was once again blessed with this past archery season with a 2 yard shot!!! The camps are very comfortable, the food is great and the horses are very gentle. The country is big and beautiful with a lot of game to hunt. I encourage anyone that wants to experience a truly western high country elk hunt to get in shape and book a hunt with Rising Son Outfitters, you will not be disappointed! Randy, Dena and the boys will take great care of you. Bucket List Trip Of A Lifetime!
My son and I had the privilege of sharing a hunting experience of a lifetime with Randy and Dena Petrich of Rising Son Outfitters. I have been hunting for over 55 years and it truly was the most exciting and memorable hunts that I have ever done. My son Maverick had the opportunity of harvesting his first Elk and Mule Deer with Randy at the age of 16. I had harvested my elk one year earlier with a bow. Both of us took two beautiful Bull Elk. Words and pictures can only begin to describe the times that we have spent with the Petrich family. I don’t generally recommend people, but I have no problem recommending and am most willing to recommend Rising Son Outfitters if you want the most exciting, breathtaking, adventurous, challenging bucket list trip of a lifetime. My son Maverick and I call it God’s Country and we were surely blessed to go there. “PRICELESS”
One Of The Highlights of My Life!
Pursuing elk the past 5 falls with the Petrich family has been one of the highlights of my life. They hustle as an amazing Family Unit in season, and out, to provide hunts of exceptional value. My hunts have been pulse-pounding and challenging, safe, sober, and successful. I feel like extended family, as most likely all who meet them do.
There Is No Finer Outfitter!
In 1985 I was on a do-it-yourself elk hunt in Mill Creek. We decided to come out and see if a rancher would let us shoot a couple of deer. We drove by several ranches and the Lord guided us towards Jerry Petrich's driveway. Jerry gave us permission to shoot several deer on his land. After shooting two deer, we stopped at Jerry's house and he introduced us to his son, Randy, who was a senior in high school. That started a thirty year friendship. In 1988 I booked an elk hunt with him. I got my first bull elk on that hunt. Since then I have done eleven elk trips with him, harvesting ten elk. I have hunted every week of the season and they are all great. There is no finer outfitter I have ever hunted with in all of my hunting all over North America. He knows his elk and he knows how to pace himself with his hunters. If you have any questions or need any hints, Randy can give you my phone number.
Best I Have Ever Experienced!
My wife, Jeanne and I have archery hunted with Randy & Dena Petrich at Rising Son Outfitters 8 times, once with rifle, and I have hunted Black Bear twice. Although we have not been successful in getting game every year, we have truly enjoyed every experience that we have had (some of our best experiences have been years we haven’t brought home any game). The quality of the hunt, the equipment, the food, the beautiful country, and Randy’s extensive experience offers a true, Rocky Mountain hunting experience. As one who has been able to experience almost 30 western Elk hunts, my experience with Randy & Dena is the best I have ever experienced…I have seen more game hunting with Randy than with any outfitter I had previously hunted with. Thank you for the outstanding experience you provided my son and I on our elk hunt this fall. We have hunted and fished with outfitters from Alaska to Texas. None have provided a more positive complete experience! From the time we arrived, you made us feel comfortable, welcoming us into your home and getting to know us. The accommodations are very good and the food you provided was excellent. Your horses and mules are quality animals, well cared for and handle easily. By limiting the number of hunters you assure the same area is not hunted day after day and the elk obviously do not feel pressured. Even hunting the last week of the season, we saw several quality animals and shot 2 very nice elk. Since our return I have recommended you to several friends and would be happy to talk to anyone considering a hunt with you.
