About Our Hunts
Rising Son Outfitters has specialized in producing world class guided hunts for elk, deer, black bear and mountain goat since 1985. All hunts are 100% fair chase and take place on our private 3000 acre ranch, as well as the adjoining Gallatin National Forest.
Our ranch, which is located in beautiful Paradise Valley, is arguably one of the most game rich areas in the lower 48. Elk, whitetail, mule deer, bears, big horn sheep and mountain goats can be found on the ranch along with numerous smaller animals, such as coyotes, mountain lions, bobcats and grouse. This special piece of God’s country has eight different creeks that run year around. Mill Creek and Elbow Creek are the two main streams, loaded with native Yellowstone cutthroat trout, as well as some brown and rainbow trout. The rest of the landscape which has a variety of springs, patches of timber and rich native feeding areas, create an ideal big game habitat. Elevations on the ranch range from 5200-8000 feet. There are rock outcroppings and ridges which provide perfect vantage points for spotting and pursuing trophy animals.
The National Forest land we utilize includes the massive Absaroka Beartooth Wilderness Area which is just under one million acres of perfect big game habitat. The AB wilderness ranges in elevation from 6000 to over 11,000 feet. We are permitted by the United States Forest Service to hunt approximately 50,000 acres of this pristine area, most of which is roadless! We are privileged to have the option of hunting from two base camps.
Accommodations for our hunts are first class. On the ranch, we hunt from heated, mouse proof log cabins with hot showers and toilets. Hunters sleep on extra-large padded cots. Our wilderness camps are also well equipped and comfortable.
Our western style of hunting includes using horses and pack mules. Our professional guides hunt closely with our clients to aid them in the pursuit of their anticipated trophy. Hunters appreciate the adventures they experience here and many return numerous times.
