Rising Son Outfitters offer trophy mountain goat hunts in districts 323 and 330 by special drawing only. Nonresidents can only apply in district 323. Both of these districts offer great trophy opportunity. We try to schedule our hunts during early October which allows for better hair on the goats, yet we still have decent access to the rugged high country before the heavy snows blanket the rocks and make goat hunting very treacherous.
Mountain goat hunting is a very challenging and rewarding hunt. Rising Son Outfitters has many years of experience guiding goat hunters to their once in a lifetime trophy. Weather permitting, we fly before each hunt to locate goats in rugged canyons and on jagged peaks. This allows us to decide whether or not to hunt from one of our wilderness base camps, spike camp or day hunt. Once we reach the goats, we glass to determine the billies from the nannies, and possible routes that will put us within shooting range. This is a very physically demanding hunt, and can also be quite dangerous. Your safety is our first priority! We are also very careful to never take risky shots at goats that would fall to their destruction or cannot be retrieved.
